Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and Consulate General in Medan Conduct On-Site Research and Guidance Visit to the Company

On January 11th 2026, a delegation led by Minister-Counselor Li Hongwei from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and Deputy Consul General Song Jianming from the Chinese Consulate General in Medan conducted an on-site inspection to the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone and PT Bintan Alumina Indonesiaa subsidiary of Nanshan Aluminium International Holdings Limited. The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into the company’s production operations, capacity expansion, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

During the visit, Minister-Counselor Li Hongwei and his delegation inspected key areas such as the corporate exhibition hall, alumina plant, port terminal, power plant centralized control room, and reservoir of PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia, as well as the Yingfa Indonesia factory located in the Karang Batang Economic Zone. They received a detailed briefing on the company’s operational achievement of reaching a 4-million-ton annual alumina production capacity. At the exhibition center, the delegation also learned about Nanshan Holdings’ industry scale, development journey, global presence, and the progress in building its integrated aluminum industry chain.

Hao Weisong, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Nanshan Aluminium International Holdings Limited, expressed sincere appreciation for the consistent attention and support extended by the Chinese Embassy and Consulate General. He provided a comprehensive report on the company’s localization efforts, safety management practices, industry chain collaboration, and future development plans.

Minister-Counselor Li Hongwei spoke highly of the company’s accomplishments. He noted that PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia stands as a model of Chinese enterprises “going global,” has not only strengthened its own position in the industry but also become a vivid example of China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation, injecting strong impetus into the local economic development. He emphasized that the development strategies of China and Indonesia are highly aligned, and the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in Indonesia will consistently uphold the principle of “diplomacy for the people,” fully leverage their role as bridges, actively coordinate and resolve practical issues encountered by enterprises, provide strong support for Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia, and promote the healthy development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Furthermore, Minister-Counselor Li encouraged the company to continue strengthening compliance management, reinforcing workplace safety responsibilities, and deepening its localization strategy. He urged the company to pursue high-quality growth while actively engaging with and contributing to the local community, ensuring shared benefits from development outcomes.

Zheng Xiao and Zhao Ninghan from the Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, and Consul Li Hong Wei from the Consulate General in Medan participated in the research visit. Hao Weisong, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Nanshan Aluminium International Holdings Limited, and Project Director Jia Zhenjiang accompanied the delegation.
